Do you want to host a campaign event in your locality?
Attendees at a previous Hands Up Panel Discussion
The Hands Up for Children campaign is trying to create more political engagement at a local level. We are inviting our partner organisations and supporters to host a campaign discussion event in your area in the autumn to bring our campaign concerns to your local political representatives and election candidates.
The Hands Up for Children campaign will provide a pack containing materials, and will endeavour where possible, to send a representative (although this may not always be feasible)
It will be up to you to organise the event – venue, speakers, attendees etc., however we will provide as much support as we can.
What will be provided?
A campaign pack will be provided for you. It will contain the following:
Power Point Presentation on the campaign – core messages, asks and parties involved
Introductory video from Marian Quinn, Campaign Chairperson – talking through the who/what/where/when/why of the campaign.
Hard copies of the core campaign documents
Hard copies of campaign flyers
Soft/ printable copies of the supporter sign up forms
General press release which can be adapted for each area
Some branded props/ materials (TBC)
Guidelines for representing the Hands Up for Children campaign (to media etc)
One member from working group will try and attend time permitting
For the moment, we are just looking for expressions of interest from organisations/ bodies that might be interested in inviting their local representatives/ party candidates, together with interested individuals, to discuss the issues contained in the Hands up For Children campaign document. So if you are interested or have any queries, please get in touch with Winnie Donoghue– firstname.lastname@example.org / 01-4160525
Get in touch now if you are interested in hosting an event in September/ October, or would like to find out more!
